[comp.sys.mac] What EXACTLY is the IIfx

es1@cunixb.cc.columbia.edu (Ethan Solomita) (03/28/90)

I am looking for an EXACT definition of the IIfx: what is it,
what makes it so much better. Please be specific and give details. I
am reasonably fluent in techeze but don't assume too much. I know that
it is 40MHz. I am interested in things such as, what is the bus speed?
what are the slots/expanability? MOST IMPORTANTLY, what comes with the
base configuration and how much does that base configuration cost?
That is the figure played with most often. Places like Computer Era
will advertise prices with 1MB ram, 40MB hard drive, no graphics card
or monitor, and of course no keyboard. Please, list price and what
that includes.
I appreciate it. Over in comp.sys.amiga, my usual "hangout",
there has been a lot of talk about the IIfx and most people are
talking out their asses, so I would like the truth by Apple. Thanks,
Also, PLEASE send me email. It is hard enough keeping up with
the few forums I attend regularly, watching here would be nearly
impossible. Thanks,
