I recently downloaded macps-22.shar from sumex-aim.stanford.edu and I have a question about its use. I have gotten the program to work without a problem using postcript output from MS Word 4.0. The problem I have is concerning Apple's copyright on the Laserprep file. To use the program you need the postcript commands from the LaserPrep file. (Created by printing a blank document and stripping a few things off of the end). I want to put this program on a multi-user unix machine, but I need to know if putting the appropriate LaserPrep output file on the unix host with the program will violate any copyrights. I ftp'd to apple.com and got the file: end-user-license-agreement.txt and it specifically forbids putting this software on any non-apple or multiuser machine. But can I legally put the postcript file produced by LaserPrep on a machine with 2000 users? If not, how does anyone use macps at all? (I cannot write the necessary postcript code myself, I don't have the knowledge, time, or the inclination). If anyone at Apple can respond, I would apprciate it. (Or perhaps give me a US mail address for the department that can help). I cannot ignore the copyright, and that is why this is an issue. (and the sysop is not about to ignore it either as well) thanks for any help, Tim Tim Butler (tbutler@wpi.wpi.edu) Teaching Assistant HL 103b ext.5424 Department of Mechanical Engineering Worcester Polytechnic Institute
