Is there any way to safely power off an SE with the 20SC *without* a mouse? Forget the keyboard, too, as I am trying to find a way to have to avoid to attach the mouse at the airport security check. For another situation, how d o I shut off my mac when I forget to connect the keyboard before I turn the mac on? I don't like the way the hard drive gets messed up after a faulty shut down. I've encountered the same situation a few years ago and wrote a tiny application that simply shuts down a Mac. If you set it as your startup application, then the Mac will shut down as soon as it boots up, which works out just right for going through airport security. To get your Mac to boot up again normally, you'll need a floppy disk with a System on it. Just set the startup on the hard disk back to Finder or MultiFinder.
