I can't run emacs or gnu-emacs under telnet. The control characters aren't recognized. I can edit things, but can't escape the program. Not even with kill. Any body had this problem? Any body know how to fix it? (Sorry if this is posted to the wrong place) ws1g+@andrew.cmu.edu

One of the menu options can show you a dialog box that displays three control key codes that do special things, like interrupt, stop scrolling, etc. Usually, interrupt is set for ^C, which is necessary in emacs. All you have to do is go through the menus, find this dialog box, and change the entry from ^C to something else, and then save your new Telnet settings. I always just delete the ^C and leave the box empty! --Haydn
