Okay, here's a real dandy of a problem... We've got a Mac Plus in our student lab...one of those old beige ones with the HD20, Lonley Heifer ROM and everything. Usually, it works better than some of our SE's and II's (we've never had to send it out for repair!). But lately, it's been acting odd. You go to the Chooser or Control Panel, it just sits there. Never accesses the HD20. Never spins the watch. Never anything. Or, if you want to print something, it all of the sudden decided it can't open the LaserWriter. It can find it, and (when the Chooser works) you can select it, but it can't open it! Or sometimes (in Word especially) it just crashes with an address error (ID=02). Or, it just can't find the network, or it can't find the HD20, or it just flashes the system bomb dialog box with no message inside. Now, as for INITs, this thing has worked with the same combo of INITs/cdevs for months now, so I doubt it's that. I really doubt it's some new virus (I check byte sizes with the system on the Plus and our standard systems on our server...they match exactly). It's running System 6.02, Finder 6.1 (of course, they've worked fine for as long as we've used them, too), has 1 MB RAM and a mouse.
