Has anyone clocked MacTCP? How long does it take to send 10Mbytes * memory to memory * disk to disk * on various Mac models? * with various Ethernet cards Similarly, how fast is AFS at serving a large file across ethernet? If anyone has any of these numbers, would they please share them with us? State of the art in 1990 (the famous Van Jacobson TCP/IP implementation that will be in 4.4bsd) is full ethernet speed from one 4.4bsd VAX 750 to another. --dave yost yost@dpw.com or uunet!esquire!yost Please ignore the From or Reply-To fields above, if different.
