this afternoon i was giving some thought to purchasing a fax modem for a new business, but i know very little about how the fax system operates. could someone please explain to me if a fax modem will be able to tell if an incoming call is for the fax, or if it'll let the call go thru to something like a bulletin board. the ideal setup would be one phone line, have the fax answer when it's for fax, and have the bbs (probably running RRH/SS) answer when it's not a fax call. can the current fax modems handle this? would there have to be another piece of hardware that would send the right code to the fax or bbs? thanks for any replies Adrian Sullivan, axs@psuarch.bitnet PAMUG - Pennsylvania Apple Microcomputer User Group mac111@psuvm.psu.edu Little Mac bbs - (814) 237-1605 (settings 8n1, 24hr) mac111@psuvm.bitnet
