I need some help with Mac fonts. I have a PostScript file containing an outline font description of font X. I can download this file to the printer, capture the PostScript output of any Mac program, convert all occurrences of (LaserWriter resident) font name Y, say, to X, download this modified file, and get font X in all places where font Y was on screen as desired. Now this is O.K. except for minor problems with spacing, lack of WYSIWYG, and the hassle of having to manually download and convert all those files. My questions are: - How does one go about building a printer font that is automatically downloaded by the LW driver upon demand? In the process I would like to use the font definition I already have. Is there a program that might be of assistance? - How can I create a screen font from the PostScript outline? - How do I set up the link between a (manually created) screen font and a downloadable PostScript font? Thanks, Edgar (knapp@cs.utexas.edu)
