[comp.sys.mac] APS removeable drives

zaccone@rigel.bucknell.edu (Rick Zaccone) (05/02/90)

Does anyone have experience with APS removeable drives? They're cheap
($699), come with a Syquest mechanism, and have a 2 year warranty.
They sound like a great deal. Does anyone have experiences they would
like to relate?

I have their removeable (as do many of my friends). The drive makes less
noise than the Ehman (fan noise). Their prices are very good on all the
drives that they sell. They have the lowes price for SyQuest cartriges
that I have found ($76 ea. - slightly lower for qty.). Nice people, great
service. I wouldn't buy anywhere else!

On the subject of the SyQuest removeable drives: so many people are selling
drives with this mechanism that I'm wondering if a cartridge from one brand
(APS, e.g.) can be read on another (e.g., Ehman).?
