Hello out there! I recently received my Daystar Digital Accelerator II card for my MacII. The card is the 50MHz version with the 50MHz 68882 installed. It works like a charm but for one thing: it refuses to recognize or use the High-Density floppies in my SuperDrives. This is also a problem with some other accelerator cards, such as the Dove Marathon 030. Dove has an INIT fix available, and Daystar's latest CDEV should, by now, have the fix. The morale is: Don't Assume You've Trashed Your Mac... call Tech Support! And for all you A/UX'ers out there, be forewarned that a hardware mod must be made to your Daystar 50MHz board for A/UX to use the floppy drives AT ALL! Daystar's turn-around time is quick (3 days in my case) but it would be even better if you told your dealer (or Daystar direct) if, when you purchase the card, that you'll be using A/UX and need the hardware mod. Jim PS: Yes, it does cook...
