PROBLEM: Icons on the client's desktop appear as generic icons. EXAMPLE: On a client machine, transfer "Font/DA Mover" to the server volume. Opening the volume will reveal the application now has the generic diamond icon instead of the 'little truck', while the server machine shows the proper icon in the published folder. No amount of desktop rebiulding on the client or the server will alter this situation. ENVIRONMENT: 6.04 on both machines (Mac II is server, SE is client), Desktop manager 2.01, Appleshare client from 6.04 distribution discs. Can anybody help? If so, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Karl Goiser

First of all, I'm the author of SingleShare (not SingleServer!!).
You could have sent me mail instead (the address is in the documentation...)
In comp.sys.mac, article <1788@runxtsa.runx.oz.au>,

The problem is known. Unfortunately, I don't have a solution -- the Desktop
Manager interface is somewhat undocumented, and the same calls, when executed
by the local Finder, seem to work.

The next version will go out in a few days/weeks (my work load is pretty high).
It'll be System 6.0.5-compatible, and be able to publish CD-ROM drives if you
have the 2.0 version of Desktop Manager.
