Help! I'm looking for a good sound input device that I can BUY. It doesn't have to be some great piece of high-tech wonderment-- I just want one that's fairly inexpensive and does the job-- namely, lets me input sounds into my mac (to use in soundmaster, etc.). I realize there's a SID schematic available by ftp, but it is really complicated and I don't know the first thing about electronics. So-- anyone know where a good find might be? (One of the SID guys wanna build me one for a fee?) Anyone? Help! -jason

It has a built-in microphone, and comes with software that allows you to listen to the digitized sounds, view the sound prints, edit the sounds, and save them in certain formats (SoundMaster, Sound-Play, snd resource files, etc.). Since the mike is built-in, you can record from practically anything: speech, TV, your stereo, the radio... I think they run in the vicinity of $135 from MacConnection (or your favorite mail-order vendor). Karen J. Norteman Digital Equipment Corporation Maynard, MA norteman@gemvax.enet.dec.com
