Several people have had problems viewing gifs on macs. I've only been
able to get it to work once a long time ago with visionlab (which is
available at sumex.stanford.edu (i think)).
What I had to do was use ResEdit (here's where it gets fuzzy and maybe someone
can clarify) and change the Type to GIFf
and the Creator to Bozo
Clarifications?

What types of problems? I've been able to view gifs (mostly gotten through ftp) with Vision Lab 1.0 and GIFfer 1.0.6 just fine. Perhaps you're using old versions of the software.
