I was having problems with system 6.0.5, every time I tried to install it: it installed reasonably well using the customizable installation procedures, but would get confused nevertheless when it came to the newer LaserWriter drivers. Similarly, once it was up and running, it was subject to pretty quick likelihood of crashing an applicaiton and/or the system. Rather than try to distinguish what was causing what, suffice it to say that the following resulted in a happy system 6.0.5 running on my Mac II: a. Use the easy install option; for some reason, this install procedure makes it through all the way without complaining that the LaserWriter 6.0 driver I had with 6.0.4 was newer than the LaserWriter 5.x driver it kept trying to install in its place. b. Replace your SuperClock! 3.8 with SuperClock! 3.9. It's claim to work better with Multifinder is apparently true (much more true!). Though I haven't attempted to pinpoint whether it was a or b or the combination thereof, everything now appears much happier. Anybody who might have had these same problems (and I've seen several posts to this effect), might want to retry one or both of the above. --Frank Malczewski (fdm@wlv.imsd.contel.com) (malczews@nunki.usc.edu)
