We are having trouble using a Jasmine 40MB DirectTape backup unit with a Mac IIci. The Mac configuration is: IIci with 80MB HD and Apple two-page monitor The Jasmine software is version 1.02. The Jasmine worked yesterday with a Mac IIfx, and will work with a Mac SE. It has worked with a IIci and Apple color monitor in the past, but it is not with this one. Symptoms include: If the SCSI cable is connected, the Mac will not boot if the Jasmine is on, but will occasionally if the Jasmine is off. We turned off all the inits, this did not make any difference. Any suggestions??????? Is it due to the two-page monitor? Another question: Is there more recent software OR BETTER software that can be used with the Jasmine DirectTape hardware? Please reply with your suggestions to me at: xdab@midway.uchicago.edu
