[munch] I am the proud owner of a new Mac II. I have several programs that allegedly "talk", such as the talking moose, talking keyboard, and a program that I actually paid money for called "KidsTime". None of these programs do any talking, though. Is the Mac II sound interface different than other Macs? Is my machine broken? What's going on here? Brian Beach

The original Macintalk is highly timing-dependent, and so won't work very well on a 68020. APDA was listing a revised Macintalk for the Mac II but I haven't tried it. -- Joel West (c/o UCSD) Palomar Software, Inc., P.O. I too have the Impulse digitizer, and while it does work on the Mac II, there is a distinct "whine" in the background of anything I digitize which was NOT there on a Mac Plus using the same hardware. I've sent a sample of the result to Impulse and will let you know what they say. Jeff Harrow Digital Equipment Corp.

Hi, I have noticed that many applications for the Mac will run on a Mac II, but will lose their sound... Is their any way to fix this problem? Scott Le Grand aka sml108@psuvm.psu.edu
