My sister currently has a Macintosh on loan from her college over the summer. A friend of hers sent her a disk which Gatekeeper (installed on the Mac) said had an 'Implied Loader Virus ADBS' on it. Since then the machine has consistently claimed to have less memory than is installed (1570 K instead of 2000K) and thus won't run some applications properly. It *did* run them beforehand. I've checked for DA's and can't find anything that could be causing this. The RAM cache is off. It also won't run MacWrite anymore. (I have no idea if it did beforehand but it seems likely.) I took a sweep over the hard disk with Disinfectant 1.0, which found nothing it recognised. Does anyone out there have any ideas? If so, could you please email as I don't always get a chance to read news, and a lot of newsgroups expire quite quickly here. Thanks, --Rick.

I posted yesterday asking for help with an apparent virus. Thanks to everyone who replied; I've sorted the problem - mostly seems due to running asn outdated copy of Gatekeeper. Thanks again to all, --Rick.
