Humblest apologies- I was suffering from the RFA (Ready-Fire-Aim syndrome). The business abot locking, unlocking etc. applies to applications gone haywire, not to folders. In order to retire gracefully, perhaps you had someting from the folder open under mutifinder while you were trying to trash the folder? BJ
