[comp.sys.mac] Who's computer is best

Why is it that once a month some poor unsuspecting person asks the net to
compare a feature on machines X and Y and this generates tons of replies?
Some of the replies are concise, factual, and unbiased. Most are suitable
for Flame Wars use only. And after a few days of these start the posts that
say to stop posting the flames.
Isn't there some way to circumvent this procedure - like having a
group called alt.computers.comparisons or more in line with what gets sent
alt.computers.mine.is.best ?
This is most true for the three 680X0 based types that this is posted
to. I don't see why there needs to be such fierce competition and flaming
between these machines. They all do about the same thing in about the same
amount of time. The low-end ones have equivalent processors and clock speeds.
The high-end ones too. They all have keyboards and mice standard. They have
varying sound and graphics, which is where most of the flames get started.
A lot of articles start out with the popular "IMHO". Not when
comparing computers!!

Until the next round of idiocy...

I think that all Computer Supremacy Flame Wars are supposed to be
redirected to .advocacy. That's why advocacy really is there, IMHO.
