When it comes to hunting through the archives, I'm a dud. I need to get an appleshare system working (so my gs can boot off the AT, and so we can keep track of #s of pages printed to the laser) on an existing out of date appletalk net. (No share involved) What files do I need, and how do I set them up? There are about 12 macs on this system & 1 gs, a postscript printer, and an IWII. I want the large system disk for my GS, and the school wants the number of pages counted off the printers. i.e. We need passwords and everything. I'm sure everything is available via apple.com, but what do I need, and how do I set it up? thanks. ps: I assume you can only have 1 fileserver? And must it be dedicated? Or can any of the Macs that are in downtime act as a fileserver? The school doesn't believe that 1 Mac will be fast enough as a fileserver. Its an SE30, the rest are plusses. thanks a million! (The apple dealers are no help!)
