The April issue of MacUser did a review of 40-50 meg hard drives. In brief,
the hard drives based on Quantum's new LP52S mechanism came out best (includes
the FWB PocketHammer50, La Cie Tsunami 50, PCPC MacBottom 50), followed fairly
closely by the Quantum P40S mechanism drives (almost everything else). Conner
drives are bad news, and so are Seagates (loud and slow) except Seagate's
large drives made by some other company (Imprimis-Wren???) which they bought.

Almost everyone uses or offers Quantum, so things like service, support,
bundled software, etc. are usually more important.
