[comp.sys.mac] NCSA Telnet 2.3 and Apple's Internet Router S/W

Hi,
Thanks to those who replied to my query a few weeks ago regarding
TOPSterminal. My requirement was to remotely login to our Sun network
from networked Macs and PC's (mainly on LocalTalk running TOPS). It
seems most people use Telnet and I subsequently downloaded NCSA Telnet
2.3 for the Mac (will try the PC version later) from NCSA.

Now the problem. We run a mixed LocalTalk/Ethernet network. The
gateway between LocalTalk and Ethernet is a Mac IIcx with an Excelan
EtherPort II card and running Apple's Appletalk Internet Router
software. This configuration works fine for TOPS. I can access files
on the Suns from my SE, which communicates with the IIcx gateway via
AppleTalk, no problem. However, I can't get NCSA Telnet 2.3 to work on
my SE. I got it working OK on our IIcx gateway.

Does anyone out know if NCSA Telnet works using the Internet Router
software? I know it works using Kinetics Fastpath and other hardware
gateways.
