[comp.sys.mac] Which 19" Color Mac monitors are best?

Greetings, netfolks.
  What are the best 19" Mac color monitors?  I am confused because there
seems to be 2 different species:
  i.)  $2500.00 price range-  Ikegami, Seiko,... these appear to belong
       to the "generic" class, a la "Computer Shopper".
  ii.) $5000.00 price range- Radius, E-Machines... these appear to be in the
       "brand name" class.  Big bucks.
Question:
  What are the principle differences between these two types, and what
justifies the large increase in cost for the "brand name" machines.  Also,
please advise on the "best" monitor, if possible, considering a number of
factors including price/performance, image quality, and reliability/lifetime.
Low cost is not of paramount importance.
