[comp.sys.atari.st] Downloading problems & software req

skidmore@osiris.CSO.UIUC.EDU (11/23/86)

I'm having the same diificulty. Take for instance the less program.
After deleting the headers, I found that I had 583 lines and about
36546 characters, instead of the indicated 581 lines and 36408
characters. After uudecoding, a check with vi came up with "Incomplete
last line. 300 lines, 25984 characters. (1034 nul, 10300 non-ASCII)".
I don't think this is right.

Anyone willing to set me on the right track with this? I've missed out
on so much software, I'm getting a bit frustrated!

I think your best bet for the moment is to send for the STarter Kit.
As was mentioned in a recent posting this contains lots of utilities
plus a development system (in FORTH) plus HACK. For a copy send
five disks formatted single sided, SASE, packing material to

Since you (and all others on the net) are such a nice guy I will copy
uniterm etc. if you request that stuff instead of HACK.

Mailing from Europe? send $3.00 in U.S. postal coupons
Mailing from Canada? send $1.50 in U.S. postal coupons

If anyone in England in the Reading area is interested in this type of PD stuff
I've got most of it, so visit me (sorry, as a university student I don't have
time to play postman pat) with some disks (and any bits you have) and I'll
be pleased to copy it over for you.
