     New,NEW ST?
     From: NORMW To: DFSCOTT

Got a message on our local BBS last night from a person (a lucky S*B) who has
recently returned from Europe. He said he checked out a computer store over
there and Lo and behold, a 2080ST!!?? He claims it is a 2 meg, blitter-chiped
dandy. He also claims to have bought it and got it back home, where it works
fine with a voltage adapter to supply 240V from 120V. (Oops, thats "chipped"
above. I have no idea what chiped might be).

Is this man credible? We know the San Joseans have josed us before and
introduced product in Europe first. My teeth gnash! I'm cleaning up the
blunderbuss!

You're not the only one who's heard the news. Indeed, people have taken the
European models home to the USA and merely changed the voltage to get it to
work. One report has it, the blitter chip WAS INCLUDED in the new model. Soon
as we get FCC approval, sometime this decade, we'll see it sold here.

now then... what's the deal? to Neil: Is this true? Is the
2080ST actually released, with blitter chip, in Europe? And, if
so, and the chip is done, then what's taking so long to get the
upgrade out for us poor souls who own 1040's??
