[comp.sys.atari.st] Gdos bugs

bammi@cwruecmp.UUCP (Jwahar R. Bammi) (12/14/86)

I discovered the following bugs in Gdos (V1.1). I wanted to confirm if others
have had the same experience or if its just me:

 - The manual says that PATH spec. should be the first non-comment line
in ASSIGN.SYS. I found instead that it should be the first line in ASSIGN.SYS.
If there are comment line before the Path spec, Gdos does'nt pick up the
path and tries to load font from 'A:\'.

 - When a device is opened, and a font is loaded, Gdos loads all the fonts
instead of the ones requested.
(I hope this is fixed before Gdos gets widely circulated.)

I am not quite sure if the following is a bug or not.
 - The flags field of the font header has the 68000/Intel word order flag
(big/little endian flag - bit 2 (0x0040)). The Gdos doc says that the
font file must be Intel (little endian) format. What is this flag for?? Is
the header always in little endian, and the rest of the WORD values in the
font form dependent on this flag (like the contents of the character offset
table). I tried the above interpertation, and Gdos does'nt seem to like it.
So the question is that is my interpertation of the flag wrong? If so, then
what is the meaning of the flag? Does this flag effect the way data in the next
font in the link is interpreted??

Any feedback will be much appreciated.
