I have a copy of STEDT.PRG, which describes itself as an emacs-like editor with EDT keypad and not the other way around, but still sounds handy. Unfortunately, it blows up with "2 bombs" when I try to run it. (I got it to run once in history, but I don't remember what else was running.) Any idea why this one won't hack it? I am running a 1040STf with ETERNAL eating 360k and your normal accessories. Available memory is 492,000 bytes. fred

My copy of STEDT crashes if I try to edit a file which has no dot '.' in its file name - it usually crashes when I try to exit. This may be the problem you're having. "xxxx.yyy" is ok "zzzz" is not ok "zzzz." is ok.
