My long awaited copy of Publishing Partner arrived just a few short hours ago. I wanted to let the net know my very first impressions of the package. First, I'd like to thank Soft Logik for shipping early copies to my dealer in shrink wrap rather than the boxes they're waiting for. The package included two disks - one for monochrome systems and one for color. I ran only the mono version. Since I had seen laser output from the package brought back from the shows, I could hardly wait to see the results on my SG-10. And I was suitably impressed! Each line of graphics output is overwritten 3 times (a la Imagewriter) and makes a very acceptable printout. I had very little difficulty creating a newsletter with the package. It is rather similar to MacWrite which I've used a couple of times. Based on the first couple of hours, I think the package is exactly what I had hoped for. By the way, in this version, they DON'T use GDOS (surprise!). It's mentioned in the manual, but because of the timing of GDOS, they went ahead and wrote their own graphics output. (The demo even had a picture "pasted" in). It supports postscript printers and Epson-types (Gemini, etc.). After I gain a bit more experience, I'll post more detail -- Bruce D. Nelson, Sr. Appl.
