[comp.sys.atari.st] Transferring archives to LISTSERV

abrams@MITRE.ARPA.UUCP (02/16/87)

This is a progress report on the efforts underway to make the
info-atari archives available to all subscribers by transfering them
to LISTSERV on Bitnet. In order to make this service work, we need
additional volunteers.

The mail digests are being made ready; will will be sending out a
message concerning them very soon. But now we need to do some work to
get ready for program archives. The first task is to set standards for
programs. I have some ideas about minimum standards for documentation
and testi to make sure that programs work as advertised.

I think it would be a good idea to review all the program files on
Score.Stanford before transferring them to Bitnet. I am looking for
volunteers to do this reviewing. We would want to separate the 8-bit
and 16-bit files at this time.

For steady state, we would need moderators to receive contributions,
review them to make sure that they meet the above standards, and to
place them into LISTSERV. As I understand the process, it would be
necessary to this (these) moderator(s) to be on Bitnet.

Will you please respond to me at Mitre if you would like to
volunteer.

Sincerely,

 - Marshall D. Abrams, info-atari moderator
