[comp.sys.atari.st] desktop

A few days ago, Moshe Braner <braner@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu>
told us that if we remove lines with this junk: "`^^^A@"
from our DESKTOP.INF that we would not have to go the bootstrap
cycle twice. I did it, and he was right. I did not have to set
the time of day twice, as I had been doing for every boot.

Until today.

It happened again. And again. But I had not changed the DESKTOP.INF file.
I checked it, did a "save desktop". Again the problem.
Again I removed that junk that had been put in by the "save desktop" routine.
And again the problem.

I have no explanation.
Do you?
