I recently purchased a 1200 baud modem for my Amiga. It seems to work with
no problems on my computer, but when I connect it to my room-mates Atari 520ST,
both the send-data and receive-data lights go on and remain on. No matter what
we tried, we could not get the modem to work on his machine (actually it worked
the first time we hooked it up but not since then). We are using a 3-line
interface (TX,RX,GND) on both machines. We tested the Atari's serial port
by using a nul-modem between it and the Amiga and it works well. Does anyone
have any ideas on why the modem doesn't work?
P.S. it is a Hayes compatible.
