[comp.sys.atari.st] uuslave

Has anybody succeeded in getting uuslave (a simple minded UUCP file
transfer program for micros) to work on the ST. There have been
several references to uuslave in net.sources, among other groups,
but I don't think I've heard of any here. Anybody out there
working on it, or already has it working.

                                Thanks,
                                Maurice T. Franklin

I'm just about finished with uuslave for the ST. So far, I have had no
trouble getting our system to call up, login, and logout (without doing any
work), but I am having a bit of difficulty in getting the file transfers to
go smoothly (sometimes they work, sometimes they don't). In any event, as
soon as I'm through I'll be sending my modifications to John Gilmore
(gnu@hoptoad.UUCP). A GNUified version of uuslave is presently being
cooked up by about a dozen people (including myself). Gnuucp (?) will be
available through the usual GNU distribution sources once everybody has
finished their work. If John and the others have no objections, I'll go
ahead and send my working version to comp.binaries.atari.st when I'm
through.
