I have heard from a very reliable source that Pete Townshend has disbanded The Who. A brief announcement was made to the press recently that The Who would not again record or perform together, and they will concentrate on solo careers. The reason for the breakup was, according to Townshend, the inability to come up with songs that he felt were right for the band. Rumor has it that Phil Collins will be on Townshend's next album. Roger Daltrey's solo album, "Parting Should Be Painless", should be out within a few weeks. Scott Abbot Bell Labs, Merrimack Valley
