Hi... This is just to let everyone that sent mail know that I just sent a copy of HDSCAN 1.22 to turner@imagen with the related docs, etc. I have added a few features and up'ed the folder capacity of the program to 200 (lots of people in the phoenix area said that they used over 140 folders all the time...without gemboot!!!) I should also mention that D. Poroit (sp?) from France sent mail saying that HDSCAN worked ok after he realized that his hard disk had been suffering from 40 folder scrambling blues before he had tried to run hdscan the first time (HDSCAN gets somewhat confused if it reads in garbage as it is scanning the fat tables). New in 1.22 is: 1) User definable drive selection file (i.e. you can specify the exact drives that hdscan reads, and the order it reads them, ahead of time now.) 2) Two commands to allow directory creation and turning write verify on and off. Oh yes, for those who missed the earlier posting, HDSCAN is just a simple sweep/xtree like utility that lets you quickly scan a disk, tagging files for later copying, erasing, or arc'ing. It can also be used for simple browsing (hex dumps/viewing) or more complex things like picture viewing, etc. It is shareware, so have fun. -Todd Burkey ...meccts!zeke!stag!trb ***************************************************************************** * Tarnauckas' Law: The attention span of a computer is only as long as its' * * electrical cord * *****************************************************************************
