Subject: Note for BITNET users

Although people have mentioned the problem with IBM hosts in changing
carets to tildes, there's another one I haven't seen mentioned lately
which cropped up when I tried to get files from the LISTSERV@CANADA01
server.

** ALL TRAILING SPACES ARE REMOVED BY RSCS (at least, I assume RSCS :-) **

This means that you'll have to wander through your uuencoded file and
make all lines of uniform length, be it by hand or otherwise. Between
this and changing the tildes to carets, you shouldn't have any more
troubles.. (I hope! :-)

i really urge people to use the version of uu*code from J. Dumas
that i posted to comp.*.atari.st a while ago, it handles both of
those problems by a) putting a predefined translation table at the
start of each uue file and b) appending a letter to the end of each
line. If there are enough requests i'll repost the sources & bin's
Please send your requests to ...decwrl!imagen!atari-sources-requests
