I have written a program that will take Degas format files and translate them into QUIC code (QMS laser command language). It is a trivial translation--I ignore the first 34 bytes in the file, the rest is a simple bitmap. QUIC supports bitmapping in a very straightforward fashion. The output is beautiful. It turns out to be more useful than I expected, because Moshe's BARREL program will save the screen in Degas format. Thus, the utility of this program is not limited to Degas drawings. If you can get it on the screen, you can put it on the laser printer. The code is so simple that if your laser printer does bitmapping, you can probably get the program to work with your printer easily. If you'd like a copy, e-mail me at todd@cincom.umd.edu only. Sufficient requests and I'll post. The program is not sysdep. Todd Aven the Softwear Sweatshop
