Does anybody know if there is any programs to make an Atari ST read/write MacIntosh discs and/or a Mac to Read/Write Atari discs? Is it at all possible to do this? I know that they store different amounts of data on their discs so it should not be without problems to do this. Any pointers will be appreciated. Mail to me and I will make a summary to the net. -- mikael (mikael@luth.UUCP) or ...mcvax!enea!luth!mikael ......... You are in error. 2+2=5 Thank you for your cooperation. The Computer.

I'm not aware of any programs myself which will read Apple Mac disks. I would also be very surprised to find any, since the Mac uses a constant linear velocity disk format (and drive), where everyone else uses constant angular velocity. In short, a Mac disk spins at a slower rate when the head is at the outer tracks, and faster on the inner tracks. This means that there are more sectors on the outer tracks, and fewer on the inner. The density of the information is the same (bits/inch or whatever) no matter which track you're on. Farrell Woods Datacube, Inc. {mirror, ihnp4}!datacube!ftw
