I recently added another set of 256K ram chips to my 520 for a total of 1Meg. Using an available ram PD program, the machine reports the correct amount of memory and all my programs work including all the PD ramdisks. However, the poor thing runs through the boot up cycle three or four times before finally coming on line. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, the 5V power supply is 5.15 at the connector, 5.05 past the input filter, 5V at the mmu, and 4.5V at the ram chips. That is a lot of I squared R loss for the foil runs. Is this normal? I was considering running a jumper from the power supply input filter to the ram banks. Any info would be appreciated. I don't really mind the extra boot sequences (unless my machine is fixing to die :-)), but my wife is irritated! :-) -- dobbs@marlin.nosc.mil "An adventure is the result of bad --Lynn planning."
