aarrgghh...I have run into this problem with two programs I have written in the past (DISKTOP and HDSCAN)...Basically, the problem is that on the ST, if I am sitting in a program (say HDSCAN) and I want to copy a file from a floppy with the path of A:\INCLUDE\LINEA.H and I have just put the floppy in the drive (i.e. after I started running HDSCAN), a simple Fopen will tell me that the file doesn't exist! You won't see this problem on a hard disk or on a floppy without a directory, but always on subdirs (unless you open'ed up that floppy before invoking the program.) I really don't want to Fsfirst and Fsnext my way down to the file (and I am not sure that would work either because DISKTOP had probs occasionally)... Am I missing something really simple? I noticed that all of the me.tos and emacs.tos programs I have exhibit the same 'bug'. BTW, I am trying to get HDSCAN 1.3/2.3 done this weekend, so would appreciate any quick replies (My newsfeed was dead for the last two weeks, so I hope no other probs were found with HDSCAN 1.22.) Version 1.3/2.3 of HDSCAN will (hopefully) have a more selective 'Select' option, more powerful copy (even multiple output disks and the option to copy retaining old dates and attributes), the ability to change attributes on files, and some better sort features.
