Has anyone had problems getting MWC 2.0 running on their Atari? I'm seeing anywhere between 2 and 4 bombs when I try to compile something. I've even completely reformatted my hard disk, and installed nothing but the compiler. I'm trying to determine whether my computer, my disk, or my copy of the compiler is damaged. ---Bob Amstadt bob@wiley.uucp {csvax.caltech.edu,trwrb.uucp}!wiley!bob

It seems that Mark Williams got a buch of bad disks from their reproducer when 2.0 came out (does that make any sense?) Anyway, you might just have to return your disks to MW and get them replaced (I did). -Rich -- /////////////////////////////////////\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ /// Richard E. Also the top of the screen went strange so I suspect that video RAM was brushed against. I should run the experiment of trying make with different size RAM disks to see what happens. From uucp Sat May 9 18:15:10 1987 Status: R I was also getting bombs with MWC 2.0, and after doing some experimenting I found that if you have a large RAMdisk installed, the compiler will run out of memory, hence the bombs. I reworked my RAMdisk to be 100K smaller and the problem was solved, but on occasion I find that when compiling something _really_ big, I need to do it entirely from floppy with no RAMdisk at all. BTW, I'm running a 1040 with only the built-in floppy. If you are running on an unmodified 520, try upping the memory to 1 meg. Or, a cheaper solution would be to break your program down into smaller piece, compile 'em separately, and link 'em together when done.
