My stockbroker called to tell me that he had a news item from one of his
online services which said that Atari Corporation announced a 2 for 1
stock split. Can anyone (Neil?) confirm or deny?

Trade of the shares normally picks up a little since the stock now sells for half of what it did before. (Now, does anyone know when Phantasie III will be released for the ST?) dhawk@well

What my paper shows is "atari n" (n for new (last 52 weeks)) and "atari wi" ...the key says this is "when issued." Since the price of the "wi" is about 1/2 the standard price, I think the "wi" is something like future trading on Atari's split shares. I *think* (don't rely on this) that shareholders of record on June 2, 1987 will have their stock split and receive their new shares (i.e. able to trade them) on June 6.
