I have a slight problem. The wilderness of my desk is no place for a tame, god-fearing mouse. I would like to know if there are any commercially available trek balls available which will function as the mouse (two discrete buttons, etcetera). Does Atari make such a beast? (If not, they should!) If not, are there any third party products in this line? I already know the trek ball that works with the 800 is entirely unsatisfactory (loose controls, among other things). If there are none made, does anyone have any experience with wiring up one? I'm thinking of asking my employer (the FAA) where they get the Trek balls that go with the radar scopes if nothing else works out. Nice tight action and two discrete buttons, so I know they're made somewhere. DM

Of course, one could use the trak ball in his/her lap, but then I an using a rigid mouse pad that the same could be done. The Wico trak ball is smaller, but almost impossible to find. I've also picked up a couple of different brand mice, and hooking them up, the 200dpi take about 1/4 less room to move full screen, and the 400dpi take 1/2 of that. The 400dpi mouse could use an SF354 as a mouse pad with lots of room left. -- Dean Brunette {ucbvax, etc.}!hplabs!oliveb!olivej!dragon Olivetti Advanced Technology Center _____ _____ __|__ _____ 20300 Stevens Creek Blvd. | | _____| | | Cupertino, CA 95014 |_____| |_____| |__ |_____
