[comp.sys.atari.st] Publishing Partner miscellany

I've mentioned the good results possible with Publishing Partner and the
Apple LaserWriter. SoftLogik is coming up with some support for this now.
They have three series of disks out now:
1) Clip art, DEGAS-compatible I believe.
2) PostScript fonts. All of the LaserWriter Plus fonts, and I think a couple
of bitmap fonts (yuk). They all have printer fonts so they can be used on
HP LaserJet and dot matrix printers too. Times-Roman and Symbol are avail-
able, unfortunately on different disks (c$30 each). The Times-Roman used
on the LaserJet is good but definitely inferior to the LaserWriter Times-
Roman or the HP Times-Roman cartridge. I'm not sure if it is good enough
for camera-ready applications. Also, I haven't seen the Symbol font; if
the simple keyboard mapping is used, you'll have Greek but will be missing
some important math symbols (like multipart parens and integrals)...
3) Non-PostScript fonts, no good for LaserWriters but okay for everything
else. Includes some neat script and calligraphic fonts for invitations
   and notices. About $25 each.
The first two series are marketed as "The Font Factory" disks; the last is on
the SoftLogik label. It looks to me like you will want a LaserWriter for the
highest quality output. Or it might be possible to jury-rig things to use the
HP cartidge fonts for quality text output...I may give that a try if "The Boss"
isn't happy with the current LaserJet driver.
The desktop publishing saga continues...
