[comp.sys.atari.st] ST arc sources wanted

t02@nikhefh.UUCP (Don Petcher) (07/16/87)

We would like to have the sources for the ST version of arc.ttp to adapt it
to our personal needs (speed it up, work on i/o redirection for a shell, etc.).
Since we don't have an email address for the person who adapted the program
for the ST (Harvey Johnson) we would appreciate any pointers to him or the
sources. Thanks.

Me too, and how about something to run on our vaxen and suns? DONT
tell me about alt.sources, it doesn't get anywhere near this machine.

I've recently hacked the sources for ARC 5.20 to work on our Vax, Suns
and Apollos. I've sent a message to the comp.sources.misc moderator, to
see if he's interested in having it there. I stole the changes made by
James Turner @ Imagen, {his hacked up version of ARC 5.12 } and hand
patched 'em into the 5.20 sources. The 5.12 he posted had #ifdef's
which claimed to allow it to run on STs. I just got my ST, and don't
have a C compiler for it yet, so I wouldn't know... in any case, I will
probably be posting my sources to one group or another, eventually.

If you can get to the Internet, you can ftp it off our vax. Umix is
at 35.1.1.10, login 'ftp' password <any>. I'll provide my copy of the
5.20 sources in an arc file. Grab it in binary mode from
	~ftp/pub/hyc/arcsrc.arc
and be kind, eh? Preferably do this *late* at night, as Umix is a
busy machine...
