[comp.sys.atari.st] gdos/metafiles, local network software; queries

ENS@SEMAX51.BITNET (07/31/87)

I have some problems with gdos:
I got a copy with degas elite along with one font. Was I cheated
or does degas elite really come with fewer fonts than degas proletariat?
Are there more fonts available via bitnet? I got the old degas fonts
to work but only one font (all sizes) seems to load at a time. Do i have
to reboot with a different assign.sys just to change fonts?
A more important question (to me) is how to use gdos to make
metafiles from my own programs? I have tried work_in[0]=31 before
v_opnvwk() and v_opnvwk() but someplace i should have to supply a filename.
I couldn't find anything in the abacus books about metafile filenames.
I have access to a laserwriter, i have a metafile to post-script converter,
now if i could just make a metafile. Any help would be appreciated. Sweden
is something of a vacuum land for atari; they only got an atari agent
this spring.

On another topic, is there any software available for the st along
the lines of appletalk for the Mac? We have several ST's and a Mega with
laser on order. We would like to use the mega as a central archive for
data files that could be accessed by any connected ST and as a laser
queue. Any information would be appreciated.
