Date: 5 August 1987, 11:06:31 GMT From: NETWORK at FRSAC11 To: INFO-ATARI16 at SCORE.STANFORD About some recent postings of uuxcode related problems: The latest version from my ST are called: uud.ttp and uue.ttp, as explained before I do not call them uudecode and uuencode. If anybody experiencing problems uudecoding files from any server, ask for the current release, I send it. (arced and uuencoded) I would prefer to have the programs put in the usual servers, I am in France, and it is a "long distance call" to most users. (My mailer is not very clever, I cant use a "reply" function, I have to note with paper and pen all I have to send, and to who, then for each do the all work. Thanks to IBM corp. for not being able to provide sensible software.) The current uue.ttp (not yet widely distributed) add, at no cost, the line sequence checking capability, used by uud.ttp to verify the integrity of received files. Tha table, in 2 lines, is always present. Jean-Pierre H. OK, great, the posting of uuencode/uudecode has reached my sight. Guess what? It is uuencoded! HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DECODE IT????!!!! I've waited patiently for this to arrive, but.... It's funny...when I finally found a copy of arc, it was arced. I wish people would think before they do things like this. I (and others) need uudecode because we don't have it. It doesn't help to send it uuencoded! I guess it's not possible to distribute binaries over the net without uuencoding them. Can someone please tell me where I can get a decoded version of uudecode? Sending the source would make things easy... -- Ron DeBlock KA2IKT uucp: ...!siesmo!rugters!galaxy!andromeda!argus!ron
