told me that his store (and others, I suppose) have been told by Atari that the shipping date for the Megas will be announced Oct. 9th (and actual pricing). He said that no Megas have been shipped in the U.S., and said that those in CA are either ones brought down through customs from Canada (would explain the high price--I sure hope that's not the actual price when Atari starts shipping! ), or that it could be a test market (gee, does that mean that $2500 is the introductory price?). So folks, another nine days to go. On a different subject, F-15 Strike Eagle from Microprose is finally out! Evidently they've improved the graphics quite a bit (better, I'm told, than any other version)--MiGs look like MiGs; when you fire your missile you see it fly off, complete with fiery exhasut; when you come to land, you see the aircraft carrier instead of a triangle; etc. Even though the carrier is there, there still isn't a landing sequence. I'm told it's faster than the 8-bit version, but that it uses the same keyboard commands and still lets you fly with two joysticks (I guess the mouse is also supported, if you REALLY want to fly with the mouse...).
