The following is really only of interest because it's the exact opposite of Neil Harris 'No comment' to the 'TT': The October issue of Data Welt (the magzine of Data Becker) contains an interview with Shiraz Shivji about the transputer and TT machine which Atari is working on (well at least he says so), the specifications mentioned in the article for the TT (add on box for ST and EST (even the terminals for this thing are vaporware) are: MC68030 (meta-vaporware?) FP Processor SCSI 4-5 Slot VME Bus 1 MB/Sec network interface 6 custom chips (let me see: 6*blitter-delay ~ 10 years so we will get this wonder machine sometime in 1997....) OS: UN*X Sys V with X Now, I wouldn't take any of this to seriously, particulary since the only way to get a share of this market would to have the machine available NOW (we can already get diskless Apollo DN3000's for only twice the price of a Mega ST4 and they seem to be getting cheaper all the time) and the whole thing if probably not further than pre-prototype.
