Well I really did it up this time. I took a hard disk boot program of a BBS (I think it was posted here first) and installed it on my hard disk using the install program that came with it. Now when I try to boot my ST I get 3 bombs and it locks up. It was installed on the first sector on track 0 I think. The program was HDBOOT.PRG and I have a supra ST -> SCSI board connected to a micropolis 40 Meg hard drive with a Adaptek SC4000 scsi controller, using supra's utilites to run with prior to my mistake. I installed the HDBOOT program and renamed the supra boot program as it said in the instructions and gave it a try (BOOOM). Is it possible to get my hard disk back with out reformatting the whole disk or does somebody have a program that will format just the boot track. Another words does anybody have a way to get my data back!!!! ,I got lazy and have not done a backup in about 3 weeks and of course those 3 weeks have generated a lot of stuff on my disk. !!!!!!! I NEED HELP !!!!!!!! Thanx in advance. `` \\ > \\ >====\\________`\\_ +//------------------------I'd rather be fishing !!!!! > ((____________)/ (( ''''''//// Gary Andresen. (( '''' ((>>>

Try REVIVE from STart or maybe DCformat-- make a floppy disk with the boot flag set (I think I saw this option in DCformat) then add the supra SUPRABT.SYS or whatever and boot from the floppy with the Hard drive turned on. [Of course, you'll have to make the floppy with the hard drive off since you cannot boot from the HD anymor-- hope you have a copy of dcformat on floppy!!] G. Onufer That issue of STart has all the instructions.
