 The official dealer here also said that Atari has imposed a price
hike on the 1040ST (about $125).  I think some of the big guys at Atari
are as brain-damaged as TOS.
 If you like clear, crisp text (like a monochrome SUN), then get the mono
system.  It's very very crisp.  The color system is very nice, but not
really appropriate for text processing. So for nice graphics and games,
get the color; for serious word-processing, programming, etc., get the
monochrome.
  I have the earlier version of Personal Pascal;  it's pretty comprehensive
(supports standard Pascal and more). Works on both color and monochrome.
Check out the new version though.
  Yes, I just posted a font editor, font loader and a nice font file to
comp.sys.atari.st about 3 weeks ago. It works on the monochrome only (i think)
The font editor is very good.
